After talking about the major fall winter trends of the year, I thought it would be useful to go deeper on some of these trends. We already know that leather has been the spotlight of the latest runways, as well as mixing checks in different colours. Well, after taking a look at my closet and only seeing miniskirts and maxi summery skirts, I realized I needed an upgrade on my fall skirt trends. So, here it is. My research on the skirt trends we need to follow this season.
As you might already know, the manifesto of the year is graceful chic with a touch of modern, and all we want is that timeless piece that still feels very contemporary. If you are looking for something like this, keep scrolling and take a look at the very versatile trends we have in store for you.
Slip Skirt
The slip skirt is actually one of my favourite skirts ever. It has a beautiful and elegant flow to it, the fabric is smooth and delicate, and you can honestly give it any style you want. I mean, any style. Bring out a modern chic look with a top or a blazer, and some nice strap sandals. Go for a more casual style with a knitted sweater. Or go full-on rocker with a leopard print and graphic t-shirts.
Leather Skirt
Because leather is already a trend in every piece you can imagine… Fall skirt trends are on top of it as well. You can wear it in almost any shape you like, although for fall we are going for the midi size. And the best thing? You can pair them with your favourite shoe, wether it is high heels, high knee boots, strap sandals or the classic ankle boot.
Ribbed Skirt
Reigning the cold season we have the ribbed skirt. A very cool trend, that follows the practical and comfortable nature we have been getting used to. So, if you want to leave the house looking fabulous but still feel comfortable and cozy, the ribbed skirt is for you.
Pleated Skirt
The pleats have been around for quite some time, most often in midi and long sizes. But the skirt trends of the next season dictate that cold is not even an option, as pleated miniskirts come to light. There is a sort of naive essence to it, and you can get a very youthful look with this piece. But if you are looking for a more polished outfit, try it on with some longer knit fabrics.
Column Skirt
The core to this trend is the long shape! You will find that the column skirt (or even dresses) has a very particular silhouette, that can really stand out on your closet. Be careful when choosing your top pieces if you are looking for a clean look. If not, go crazy and have fun mixing styles!
