What should you prepare before requesting a quote?
Give the production team a clear brief, practical quantities and an agreed approval process.
Define the jacket’s structure
Specify shell fabric, lining, interlining, pockets, collar, closures and reinforcement. A lightweight overshirt and a lined tailored jacket need different patterns and construction decisions.
Review movement and layering
Use the sample to assess shoulder shape, sleeve movement and the space needed over other garments. Confirm these fit decisions before grading the size range and approving production.
Plan trims and order quantities
Production quantities are reviewed with your project. Share the style, size and colour breakdown with zipper, button and branding specifications so sourcing and assembly can be planned together.
Frequently Asked Questions
Planning your fabrics, fit, quantities and production.
How do I start a custom jacket project?
Send your tech packs or reference samples, quantities, target price and delivery date. Our team will review the project and identify the information needed for a tailored quotation.
What should a jacket tech pack include?
A tech pack communicates the drawings, measurements, materials, colours and construction details of your product. It gives the workshop a shared reference for sampling and pricing.
Send your tech packs, sketches or references through our enquiry form or email info@portugaltextile.com.
If you do not have a tech pack yet, physical reference samples can help us discuss the development work required.
What is your minimum order quantity?
Order quantities are reviewed as part of your project. Share your styles, colour breakdown and material requirements so we can review how your collection should be planned.
What are the development and production lead times?
Timing depends on materials, sample development, approvals and production volume. We prepare a project-specific schedule after reviewing your brief. Send your requirements through our collection enquiry form.
Which jacket and outerwear styles can I develop?
We can review bomber jackets, varsity and college jackets, denim jackets, blazers and other outerwear briefs. The fabric, lining, construction and finish determine the workshop and development approach for your project.
How is product quality checked?
We check materials, measurements, construction and finishing against the agreed specifications and approved sample. Let us know about any required performance tests during the briefing stage.
Can you add my own labels and packaging?
Yes. We can review custom labels, branding and packaging using your artwork and specifications. Materials, dimensions, colours and quantities are agreed before production.
How is the collection delivered?
We coordinate the transport of your collection with shipping partners. Destination, order volume and required delivery date determine the available options and quoted costs.
How is the production price calculated?
Portugal Textile prepares a project-specific quotation from the technical brief. Materials, construction, colours, quantities, development work, branding and packaging affect the price. Share your target budget and delivery date so the team can assess the scope before you commit.
