Trends And Sustainability
Spring-Summer 23 is shaping up to be a season full of positive energy! It will definitively be a reflection of the complex world we are living in, where the real meets the virtual. The natural coexists with the artificial. The slow mix up with the fast. And the sustainable has to live with the frenetic. All these concepts complement each other, to better fulfill the changes in consumer lifestyles, and their needs.
So, this summer, diversity takes center stage. The options are analyzed according to many impacts, by tracing the products’ routes around the globe, from the raw materials to the final products. The season invites us to explore the unknown and to study intangible spaces of virtual realities.
More and more committed to change, fashion is working to ensure style, however, with the combination of social and environmental aspects, throughout the entire product life cycle. So, eco-responsible qualities are becoming more refined, and demonstrating resistance, which allows multiple uses of this materials. Also, production guarantees product origin, the transparency of processing operations, efficient management of water, energy and an audit of the environmental impacts.
Trending Colours And Methods
The colour insights from Première Vision are a huge source of inspiration for fashion professionals and creators. It gives us the perfect harmony we need, whether for prints, accessory components, leather goods, footwear, clothing and for the planning of a whole collection.
The Spring-Summer 23 color range invites us to explore nature and the hugeness of the digital world. There are different types of tones coexisting: Strong and deep-rooted colors; sensitively pigmented shades; and vibrant hues with vigor;
Colors are enhancing this season’s materials while ensuring their harmlessness. So, wools, cottons and sheep leather embrace their original shades. As well as recycled materials, that are not overdyed when upcycled. In order to preserve their original colour. Plus, natural shades are produced at low temperatures and without the use any toxic element. So, these techniques make it possible to color all fibers, whether natural, artificial or synthetic.
These colours activate the spontaneous desire to move forward having in mind the constantly pursuit of circularity. And an opened approach to timings and aesthetics.
Thanks to new technologies, dying procedures aim a minimal use of water, and non toxic chemicals, from the purest white to the deepest hue. The new colour trends are unfurl with natural pigments made out of revalued agricultural resources.

Sustainable Fabrics
When it comes to Sustainable Fabrics, the innovations for Spring-Summer 23 focus on a desire for versatile fashion. And the importance of considering multiple possibilities. So, organic cottons are joined by flax, hemp, nettles, and virtuous cellulosics derived from textile recycling. Synthetics refine the offer of recycled polyesters, polyamides, and elastanes, and continue to explore bio-sourced alternatives.
- Essential Bast Fibres
So, bast fibers require little irrigation, few pesticides and stock CO2, cementing their reputation as a sure sustainable value. Refined linens has achieved a popularity in recent seasons and are resulting in new opportunities for hemp and nettles. Here are the most versatile Sustainable Fabrics, we can see at PV:
Hemp, Nettle, Organic linen, Recycled PET Polyster, Organic Silk, Viscose Eco Vero.
Cupro has evolved towards eco-responsibility, by combining previously-unused cotton residues and closed-circuit production processes. With these innovations, agricultural by-products, like citrus peel, banana and pineapple leaves, hemp and nettle residues, rich in cellulose, are converted into this artificial material.
Summing up, Première Vision Paris aims to reinforce and consolidate its position as a key trade show for the whole industry! Having this in mind, this year’s programme and our insights of it include several events (such as forums presenting the season’s main materials, trends and tools). Physical and online “trend tasting” seminars, a live Sourcing session and many spaces dedicated to new ideas and inspiration.
